Apply now.</p> <p>Your Role as the Certified Medication Aide (CMA)</p> <p>Americare Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to provide safe, accurate medication administration and compassionate daily care to our residents. In this role, you'll play a vital part in supporting residents' health, comfort, and quality of life while helping maintain a warm, home-like environment.</p> <p>Working under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, you'll ensure medications are administered correctly, residents are monitored closely, and care is delivered with dignity and respect.</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is responsible for administering prescribed medications, supporting residents with activities of daily living, and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with state regulations and Americare policies.</p> <p>This role works collaboratively with nursing staff and caregivers to promote resident safety, wellness, and person-centered care.</p> <p>This role may also be known as:</p> <p>Certified Medication Aide (CMA), Medication Technician, (CMT) Med Aide, Level One Medication Aide, (L1MA) or Medication Assistant.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li>Administer prescribed medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff </li><li>Verify resident identity prior to medication administration and document dosage, time, and observations </li><li>Monitor residents for medication responses and report adverse reactions or concerns promptly </li><li>Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meals, and mobility </li><li>Recognize and report changes in resident condition to charge staff </li><li>Maintain accurate documentation related to resident care, intake, and output as ordered </li><li>Assist with admission, discharge, and transfer documentation as required </li><li>Support team members by providing assistance as needed </li><li>Perform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning resident rooms and common areas </li><li>Answer phones, greet visitors, and assist with tours as requested </li></ul> <p>What You Bring</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Must be at least 18 years of age </li><li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>Completion of a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) program that meets state requirements </li><li>Active CMA certification in good standing </li></ul> <p>Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary care team </li><li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety </li><li>Compassionate, resident-focused approach to care </li><li>Clear communication skills and professionalism </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed </li><li>Push, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistance </li><li>Maneuver resident wheelchairs weighing up to 350 lbs. </li></ul> <p>Safety Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Follow proper resident care procedures, including two-person lifts when required </li><li>Utilize required PPE to prevent exposure to bloodborne pathogens </li><li>Report work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentation </li><li>Participate in company drug testing procedures </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This role is performed in an indoor healthcare environment with appropriate lighting and ventilation.
