This is your chance to step into a key leadership role where your skills, decisions, and energy make an immediate impact!</p> <p>Chief Wastewater Technician</p> <p>Overall responsibility to operate, monitor, maintain with the assistance of maintenance technicians and trouble-shoot the wastewater treatment and its processes. Work involves responsibility for the technical aspects of plant operations, compliance with state and federal operating regulations, and underground sewer system. Work is performed with considerable independence subject to review through reports and results achieved. The proper candidate would report to the Plant Manager and will manage two hourly employees.</p> <p>Principal Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Lead the team of two level 5 operators that will perform all aspects of sampling, monitoring and testing required to maintain compliance with Federal State and Local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process, and storm water and sludge management. </li><li>At times, will assist in these activities. With the assistance of the maintenance manager ensure the maintenance and repair of the physical plant and pump stations and all of their components. </li><li>Ensure the performance of regular and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and machinery. </li><li>A member of the team that responds to emergencies and breakdowns at the plant. </li><li>Complete all the necessary paperwork for wastewater compliance and delivery on time to the appropriate agency. </li><li>Perform all work in conformance to Occupational Safety and Health Act regulations. </li><li>Inform necessary personnel regarding the treatment process operation and malfunctions, as well as make recommendations for repairs and improvements to these systems. </li><li>Participate in the budgeting process. </li></ul> <p>Training, Skills, Knowledge, and/or Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to perform and document various tests required by State and Federal agencies for the operation of a wastewater treatment plant.
