This isn't just a job, it's a chance to lead innovation, engineer impact, and build a legacy of excellence.</p> <p>HDR is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services group in our Kentucky/Tennessee area. In the role of Senior Civil Engineer, we'll count on you to:</p> <ul> <li>Design and plan production on a wide variety of commercial and industrial projects, including site planning and layouts, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering infrastructure activities </li><li>Prepare specifications and contract documents, and costs estimates </li><li>Advance permitting requirements </li><li>Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures </li><li>Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity as needed </li><li>Function both independently and within HDR project teams </li><li>Plan, organize and supervise work of a medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed; Help with the initial recruitment to build the staff </li><li>Serve as a Project Manager on larger projects, although project management is not the sole focus of this position </li><li>Be responsible for client management and program development within the Civil Section </li><li>Understand HDR's work-sharing mentality regarding other offices in the region. </li><li>Perform other duties as needed </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Microsoft Office applications, MicroStation, InRoads and other civil engineering software as appropriate; </li><li>Strong operating knowledge of Civil 3D is highly preferred </li><li>Production-orientated individual that is self-motivated, collaborative and possess strong leadership skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound civil site designs </li><li>Hands-on experience in site development, drainage/grading projects </li><li>Preference given to local candidates with understanding/relationships within market (Kentucky/Tennessee) </li></ul> <p>#LI-BC2</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>A minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projects </li><li>Professional Engineer (PE) license. </li><li>Project Engineering and Project Management experience </li><li>An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must </li></ul> <p>What We Believe</p> <p>HDR is our company.
