This role focuses on student discipline, attendance, culture-building, and coordination with staff to ensure a positive and productive summer school experience.</p> <p>Goal of the Role</p> <p>To ensure that all students experience a safe, supportive, and structured environment that maximizes their opportunity for academic success during the summer term.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Student Support & Culture</p> <ul> <li>Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful school climate aligned with program expectations </li><li>Build strong relationships with students to support engagement, motivation, and personal growth </li><li>Serve as a visible and approachable presence throughout the school day </li></ul> <p>Discipline & Behavior Management</p> <ul> <li>Develop and enforce student behavior policies and code of conduct </li><li>Address disciplinary issues promptly and fairly, using restorative practices when appropriate </li><li>Maintain accurate records of behavioral incidents and interventions </li></ul> <p>Attendance & Engagement</p> <ul> <li>Monitor daily student attendance and follow up on absences or tardiness </li><li>Collaborate with families and staff to improve attendance and participation </li><li>Identify at-risk students and implement strategies to re-engage them </li></ul> <p>Staff Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with teachers and support staff to address student needs </li><li>Provide guidance and support on classroom management strategies </li><li>Participate in staff meetings and contribute to program planning and evaluation </li></ul> <p>Family Communication</p> <ul> <li>Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and expectations </li><li>Address concerns and facilitate solutions in a professional and timely manner </li></ul> <p>Program Operations</p> <ul> <li>Assist with student intake, orientation, and scheduling as needed </li><li>Supervise transitions, common areas, and school events </li><li>Ensure compliance with school policies, safety procedures, and relevant regulations </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience working with high school students in an educational or youth development setting </li><li>Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, short-term program environment </li><li>Knowledge of restorative practices and student-centered discipline approaches is an asset </li></ul> <p>Skills & Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication and organizational skills </li><li>Sound judgment and problem-solving ability </li><li>Ability to build trust with students, staff, and families </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Requires on-site presence during program hours </li><li>May involve standing, walking, and active supervision throughout the day </li></ul> <p>Working Schedule</p> <ul> <li>6/22/2026 7/31/26 </li><li>Monday through Friday (specific Fridays off will be communicated) </li><li>8:00a. 2:30p. </li></ul> <p>Compensation - $50/hr.</p>
