<p>The Registered Nurse Inpatient Medical/Surgical Oncology Telemetry Unit provides comprehensive nursing care to patients assigned to a unit where conditions are usually of a non-critical nature. They deliver holistic care through collaborative strategies with the interdisciplinary team.</p> <p>The Registered Nurse Inpatient Medical/Surgical Oncology Telemetry Unit performs initial history and assessment, patient teaching/education, Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS), and verification of informed consent.</p> <p>Major Duties include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Electrocardiogram, intravenous pumps, tube feeding, ceiling lifts, pulse oximetry, glucometer management, administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy and telemetry monitoring. </li><li>Maintain current ONS chemotherapy biotherapy provider card, administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. </li><li>Management of complex patient situations utilizing the nursing process. </li><li>Complete initial assessments and reassessments of patient condition and response to treatment. </li><li>Improve holistic care through collaborative strategies with others such as patients, their family members/ significant other and members of the interdisciplinary team. </li><li>All other duties as assigned, pertaining to this occupation, to meet the needs of the Agency, Department, Facility, and/or Service. </li></ul> <p>VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards</p> <p>Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards</p> <p>Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)</p> <p>Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA</p> <p>Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)</p> <p>Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory</p> <p>Work Schedule: Full-Time, 7:30am-8:00pm or 7:30pm-8:30am, which may also include weekends and holidays.
