<p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <ul> <li>Administers nursing care to patients and/or plans, directs and coordinates the nursing care of patients via the nursing process and in collaboration with the health care team. </li><li>The RN also instructs patients and families in procedures, health care practices and continuing care after discharge. </li><li>The RN performs job duties and responsibilities in a manner adhering to the hospital and department's policies and procedures. </li><li>The RN may be assigned other responsibilities for the area. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>JOB SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES:</p> <ul> <li>Assesses vital signs </li><li>Demonstrates thorough, accurate and timely age-based assessments while exhibiting necessary response to changes in the patient's condition competence in clinical and technical skills. </li><li>Performs accurate and complete medication reconciliation at every visit </li><li>Performs nursing care following safety principles, OSHA guidelines and infection control. </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Direct and indirect patient care. </li><li>Professional growth. </li><li>Performance Improvement. </li><li>Fiscal Responsibilities. </li><li>Communication. </li><li>Safety. </li><li>Patient's First. </li></ul> <p>EXPECTED BEHAVIORS:</p> <ul> <li>Provides and documents care per hospital and departmental policies and procedures. </li><li>Demonstrates thorough, accurate and timely age based assessments while exhibiting necessary response to changes in the patient's condition competence in clinical and technical skills. </li><li>Provides instructions to patient/families regarding procedures and care following discharge. </li><li>Performs nursing care following safety principles, OSHA guidelines and infection control guidelines. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:</p> <ul> <li>Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). </li><li>Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). </li><li>Registered Nurse (RN). </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL LICENSURE/CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. </li><li>Current Registered Nurse license with the state of Indiana. </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Mandatory Annual Continuing Education: Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Confidentiality-HIPAA, Infection Control, Corporate Compliance. </li><li>Annual Unit Specific Competencies, and all education required by regulatory, accreditation bodies and/or Hancock Regional Hospital. </li></ul>
