<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Administration/Special Education Coordinator</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>4/13/2026</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>District Center</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Position: Special Education Coordinator - Elementary</p> <p>Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, Full-time, 12 months/year</p> <p>Start Date: July 1, 2026</p> <p>Pay: $90,000 - $121,000 dependent on qualifications and in accordance with the Non-Affiliated Handbook</p> <p>Benefits: Medical, Dental, Life and other benefits in accordance with the Non-Affiliated Summary of Benefits</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Minnesota Director of Special Education license and valid teaching license in special education or related field </li><li>At least three years of teaching and/or administrative experience to include supervisory experience </li><li>Master's degree in special education instruction or related special education field </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Understanding and direct leadership experience in Special Education </li><li>Understanding and related experience in collaborating Special Education programming </li><li>Knowledgeable of MN and Federal special education laws/rules related to due process </li><li>Experience and knowledge of special education and general education curriculum, instruction, and assessment </li><li>Experience and knowledge in special education literacy, math, and behavior interventions </li><li>Experience with dispute resolution </li><li>Effective collaboration skills including strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and technology skills. </li><li>Ability to interact effectively with individuals and groups in a variety of settings, with persons of diverse backgrounds </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with Principals, Special Education Lead, and Special Education staff, and the Director of Student Services and Assistant Director to ensure that all students assigned a special education program receive due process rights; interpret the school policies and programs for students, staff, parents, and keep the Director of Student Services informed as to problems and concerns. </li><li>Collaborate with Principals, Special Education Lead, Special Education staff, and the Director of Student Services regarding development and implementation of special education and general education curriculum, instruction, and assessment and evidence based practices. </li><li>Collaborate with Principals with the supervision and performance evaluation of licensed staff, paraprofessional and teacher assistants, unlicensed staff, and program support personnel. </li><li>Supervision including staff training and professional learning systems; creating and maintaining system of various staff meetings; and communications </li><li>Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and training new staff. </li><li>Collect and maintain information for determination of staffing needs. </li><li>Monitor Special Education Due Process procedures. Provide systems and training opportunities. </li><li>Effectiveness with a systems approach that is blended and program specific </li><li>Program development, implementation/sustainability. Systems approach/blended and program specific. </li><li>Collect and maintain data for federal, state, district required Special Education Reports. </li><li>Monitor budget expenditures for Special Education programs with the support and assistance of the directors, and accountants. </li><li>Provide leadership and direction re: conflict resolution staff, parents, students, agencies. </li><li>Establish and monitor systems which assure application of entrance/exit criteria, program curriculum and due process for students with disabilities. </li><li>Provide technical assistance in the development of appropriate assessment and the individual program planning for specific students with disabilities. </li><li>Provide program evaluation, supervision of itinerant staff, and participate on special education administration team and district committees, and building support. </li><li>Team closely (triage) with building on students/families in crisis situations and students/families with high profiles. Provide support, give input and coach on how to respond to parent, be aware of possible outside services. </li><li>Coaching staff on due process functions while at the scheduled meeting (manifestations, evaluation summary, IEP meetings, etc.). </li><li>Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as directed by the Director of Student Services. </li></ul>
