Today, our St. Louis network consists of two middle schools, three elementary schools, and a high school.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The KIPP Forward (KF) program is responsible for implementing robust programming for KIPP St. Louis students in each phase of their high school and post-secondary education. The KF program seeks to support all KSL students in becoming successful adults in their academic, professional, and personal lives. The Manager of Advising for KIPP Forward will be responsible for ensuring that our postsecondary advising model provides exposure, guidance, and support for students and their families as they identify and plan for the best postsecondary pathway. The Manager of Postsecondary Advising will perform additional duties and do whatever it takes for ALL students to be successful at KIPP St. Louis schools and on their postsecondary journeys. The Manager of Advising for KIPP Forward will report to the Director of KIPP Forward.</p> <p>Position type: Full-time, Exempt, 12-month</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Oversee postsecondary advising at KIPP St. Louis High School, including advising towards college, career, military, and CTE programs</p> </li><li> <p>Manage, train (as needed), and support the College Adviser and ensure progress toward goals related to postsecondary access</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the planning of the Postsecondary Fair, Summer Opportunities Fair, and Career Conversations at KHS</p> </li><li> <p>Support KIPP St. Louis High School and the Persistence Team in planning and executing pre-college and transition programs</p> </li><li> <p>Plan and host family information sessions related to postsecondary options and processes, including FAFSA workshops</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with College and Career Readiness 11 and 12 teachers to ensure lessons are aligned to our postsecondary advising model</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure maintenance of accurate data in the Alumni Database and Overgrad</p> </li><li> <p>Establish and cultivate relationships with college/ university admissions offices, scholarship programs, corporate partners, nonprofit groups, and various outreach programs</p> </li><li> <p>Establish and work closely with the grade level chairs and KHS administration to ensure that KHS enables students to use all their resources and effectively execute the postsecondary planning activities</p> </li><li> <p>Promote and oversee scholarship applications for seniors who are applying to college</p> </li><li> <p>Support and train KHS staff in the areas of college admissions, scholarships, financial aid, and standardized testing</p> </li><li> <p>Manage student selection and applications for KIPP Foundation Scholarships and other competitive scholarship programs</p> </li><li> <p>Work collaboratively with the Director of KIPP Through College to continuously expand upon postsecondary pathways for students to consider, including workforce, CTE, military, and credentialing programs.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>What you bring to the table:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree (REQUIRED), Master's (preferred)</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in team management</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in post-secondary access and advising</p> </li><li> <p>A passion for working with students in the city of St. Louis and a desire to provide whatever resources are necessary to ensure that all students will succeed</p> </li><li> <p>Shared responsibility for program activities, some of which take place during evenings or Saturdays.</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to personal professional growth.</p> </li><li> <p>Dedication to helping children grow and learn.</p> </li><li> <p>Outstanding organizational skills and high attention to detail; outstanding written and oral communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to doing whatever it takes, whenever it needs to be done, to empower our students to be successful.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication skills and ability to manage a wide array of relationships and partnerships.</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>What we bring to the table:</p> <p>We are a fast-paced, energetic team and family with passionate people who are leading a movement and to cultivate their best working environment, we provide the following:</p> <ul> <li> <p>$0 deductible healthcare plan option, including medical, vision, and dental.</p> </li><li> <p>Employer-Paid Short-Term Disability</p> </li><li> <p>$50,000 life insurance policy at no cost to the employee</p> </li><li> <p>Retirement plan through PSRSSTL with a 12% match and an optional 403b as a supplement to our pension program</p> </li><li> <p>Employee Recognition: When we succeed together, we celebrate together with our annual Heart Awards and more!</p> </li><li> <p>Non-profit student loan forgiveness program qualified employer</p> </li><li> <p>Longevity Bonuses: 2, 5, and 10-year financial rewards</p> </li></ul> <p>Generous time off:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Paid leave for illness, personal days, bereavement, jury duty, and military-related leave</p> </li><li> <p>Paid parental leave for new families</p> </li><li> <p>Paid holidays, as well as a one-week Thanksgiving break, a two-week winter break, a week-long spring break</p> </li><li> <p>Wellness days and Fabulous Fridays (leave at 1:30 on Friday, once a month)</p> </li></ul> <p>Ongoing professional development opportunities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Weekly coaching sessions</p> </li><li> <p>Weekly school-based professional development</p> </li><li> <p>Five in-person PD days during the year for all KIPP St. Louis teachers</p> </li></ul>
