Acadia Healthcare-River Place Behavioral Health, a service of Ochsner Health System, provides state-of-the-art psychiatric care for adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and other mental health concerns.</p> <p>Supervise, plan, coordinate, and organize day-to-day activities that will enhance effectiveness of the Admission Department. Coordinate referrals and ensure smooth admissions processing for referral sources, families, staff and patients.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee the daily referral, intake, admissions and preauthorization process for incoming patients. </li><li>Organize, plan and direct work assignments for Admissions staff. </li><li>Provide staff management to including hiring, development, training, performance management andcommunication to ensure effective and efficient department operation. </li><li>Supervise and monitor personnel adherence to established Admissions criteria and ensures thatappropriate documentation of approval/denial occurs. </li><li>Adhere to established Patient Rights and ensures the Admissions staff comply. </li><li>Act as an intermediary on difficult cases, keep leadership team informed of the status of problematicsituations. </li><li>Ensure compliance with front-end financial processes to include benefit verification, financialcounseling, and completion or prior authorization of each patient per Acadia policy and facility process. </li><li>Maintain knowledge or milieu management. </li><li>Ensure that FTE utilization in Admissions falls within fiscal guidelines, but also ensures patient safetyand admission efficiencies. </li><li>Provide staff management to include hiring, development, training, performance management andcommunication to ensure effective and efficient department operation. </li><li>Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. Whenpatient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safetyis a top priority. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in a social services field required. </li><li>Master's degree in a social services field (psychology, counseling, social work, sociology, health administration, nursing) or RN is preferred. </li><li>Four or more years' of experience as an admissions manager or in another admissions capacity.
