<p>Overview</p> <p>Using CNC machines and related tooling, set up and program to fabricate parts and components to predetermined specifications and dimensions.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Review example parts, drawings & instructions to ensure familiarity with parts requirements. </li><li>Measure, calculate, interpolate & extrapolate dimensions to ensure part conformity. </li><li>Select appropriate machines & tooling and plan the required sequence of machining operations to ensure part quality and maximum productivity. </li><li>Ensure program selection is appropriate for the part in question. </li><li>Create new or modify existing programs to ensure part conformity and maximum productivity. </li><li>Set up machine and machine parts consistent with best practices and industry standards. </li><li>Maintain accurate accounting of inventory tag status, location and quantity. </li><li>Manages assigned work orders to ensure timely completion. </li><li>Rework and/or otherwise disposition non-confirming inventory. </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Able to: </li><li>Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and manuals. </li><li>Lift 50 lbs. unaided. </li><li>Walk & stand for approximately 8 hours per day in a conditioned shop environment. </li><li>Function at a high level of productivity without regular oversight. </li><li>5 years of applicable experience. </li><li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li></ul> <p>Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Action Oriented - Action oriented & not fearful of acting with a minimum of information </li><li>Customer Focus - Dedicated on meeting the expectations & requirements of internal & external customers; talks & acts with customers in mind. </li><li>Dealing w/ Ambiguity - Effectively copes with change; decides & acts without having the total picture; isn't upset when things are up in the air; can comfortably handle risk & uncertainty </li><li>Learning of the Fly - Learns quickly when facing new problems; versatile learner; open to change; analyzes both successes & failures for clues to improvement. </li><li>Planning - Accurately scopes out length & difficulty of tasks & projects; breaks down work into the process steps; anticipates & adjusts for problems & roadblocks; evaluates results. </li><li>Problem Solving - Uses logic & methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions; probes all fruitful sources for answers; can see hidden problems; is excellent at honest analysis; looks beyond the obvious & doesn't stop at the first answer. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Key internal relationships include other Machine Shop personnel, Valve Assembly personnel, Quality Control personnel</p>
