<p>This posting is advertised until filled.</p> <p>PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position is responsible for providing support for teachers through a variety of interventions. (This position has multiple incumbents, each of whom will take the lead role for a particular program or programs).</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Director of Professional Learning, Employee Training, and Leadership Development</p> <p>SALARY SCHEDULE: Teacher</p> <p>WORK DAYS: 219</p> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Education Level: Master's degree in education from an accredited college or university </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Education Specialist or Doctorate </li></ul> <p>Experience, Skill and Certification:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Georgia Teaching Certification </li><li>At least five years of successful classroom experience </li><li>Knowledge and experience in curriculum implementation, effective instructional strategies, and research-based best practices. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including coaching/mentoring skills. </li><li>Proven leadership ability as seen in school experience over the most recent three years. </li><li>Demonstrable understanding of adult learning and training. </li><li>Evidence of continued interest in professional development. </li><li>Proficient in the use of technology. </li><li>Ability to structure own time and to manage multiple priorities. </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Certification in educational leadership </li><li>Administrative and/or supervisory experience </li><li>Experience as a mentor or coach </li><li>Successful experience planning and delivering professional development </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Responsible for Teacher Induction Support for teachers in the school district.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates the Teacher Success Mentors that are assigned to support teachers in need of classroom management support.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates and recommends viable digital platforms be used for SOFIE (System Orientation for Incoming Educators) and other professional learning sessions.</p> </li><li> <p>Mentors/supports teachers who have been placed on Professional Development Plans for remediation to improve instruction.</p> </li><li> <p>Determines necessary interventions for teachers in need of remediation and provides feedback to the principal, teacher and Professional Review Panel as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Plans and coordinates with director to provide professional development activities through mentoring and coaching.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with the SOFIE (System Orientation for Incoming Educators), THRIVE programs, and other programs that are coordinated through the department.</p> </li><li> <p>Arranges for assistance to mentors and proteges from a variety of programs, sources, and resources.</p> </li><li> <p>Promotes support/training to Site-Based Mentors/Induction Coordinators in all schools.</p> </li><li> <p>Arranges staff development as needed. For example:</p> </li><li> <p>Ongoing THRIVE sessions</p> </li><li> <p>Time management in the classroom</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with the development and delivery of courses for paraprofessionals and other staff as allowed by Title llA.</p> </li><li> <p>Mentors/supports teachers in the Georgia Teacher Academy for Preparation and Pedagogy (GaTAPP) program. TEACH SAVANNAH LEARNING ACADEMY</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with/coordinates reports and communications associated with GaTAPP program.</p> </li><li> <p>Serves on the GaTAPP advisory committees, as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with the Georgia Teacher Alternative Preparation Program (GaTAPP) program as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties that support Title llA goals as necessary for the effectiveness of the organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Propose and implement creative solutions/digital platforms to respond to district and department needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Serves as a liaison between consultants and outside vendors for assistance and programming as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains and implements digital platforms as aligned to departments mission and vision.</p> </li></ul> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT</p> <p>Incumbents will receive an annual contract. The work calendar will be 219 days. Salary will be determined based on level of certification, allowable experience, and number of work days. These positions are funded through Title llA and are subject to available funding and the current Title llA Plan.
