The Bed Board Controller is responsible to track bed assignments through bed tracking system and to ensure timely and appropriate movement of patients within the hospital.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma required </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication skills </li><li>Previous hospital experience in an acute care facility preferred </li><li>Experience with bed placement processes and systems preferred </li><li>Exceptional organizational skills </li><li>Medical terminology knowledge and computer skills </li></ul> <p>Scheduling Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Per Diem Day </li><li>7am - 7pm </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>The Bed Board Controller is expected to complete all admissions, transfers, discharges and other service level changes in a timely manner and work closely with clinical staff to obtain correct and timely orders and ensure accuracy of patient's level of care </li><li>The Bed Board Controller is also responsible for verifying and reconciling the hospital census and distribution of the census to the appropriate clinical and operational staff. </li><li>The coordinator works in conjunction with the clinical leadership in the facilitation of continuous patient throughput from all points of entry and internal transfer </li><li>The Bed Board Controller performs all job duties in a professional and courteous manner and demonstrates positive and appropriate skills with internal and external customers </li><li>The Bed Board Controller must possess the ability to work with others and maintains a safe environment for patients, staff physicians and visitors </li></ul> <p>Other Duties:</p> <p>Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
