This role serves as a lead advisor, guiding the daily work of other advisors while shaping advising practices that promote retention, equitable access, and student success. Working collaboratively with faculty, campus partners, and external stakeholders, this position helps remove barriers, strengthen student engagement, and advance student-centered approaches that support long-term educational and career goals.</p> <p>Position Details:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Schedule: This is a full-time, salaried position with core hours Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, occasional weekends and evening coverage as required. This position is located at our Goodman South Branch and offers the potential to work remote 2 days a week. Come be part of our great team!</p> <p>Accountabilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provides individualized academic, career and transition advising to support student goal setting, course selection and long-term educational planning.</p> </li><li> <p>Delivers case management, retention and transition support through proactive monitoring, early intervention and referrals to internal and external resources to address barriers to student success.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates and implements student-facing events, workshops and orientations to promote program engagement and increase student preparedness.</p> </li><li> <p>Supports recruitment and enrollment efforts by delivering outreach presentations, participating in placement and onboarding processes and guiding students through school and institutional procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates with internal departments and external partners to improve access, resolve student concerns and ensure alignment with institutional and partner requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Leads or contributes to cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen student support practices and enhance advising effectiveness.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains accurate documentation and reporting to support grant compliance, institutional accountability and informed decision-making.</p> </li><li> <p>Leads the daily work of other advisors in the program and exercises independent judgment to resolve complex advising scenarios and uphold policies while adapting to diverse student needs and learning environments.</p> </li><li> <p>Contributes to an inclusive, equitable and supportive environment where everyone at the institution feels valued, respected and empowered to reach their full potential.</p> </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge of academic advising principles, including course planning, transition pathways and student support strategies at the post secondary level.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of institutional policies, student services and external support systems that impact student enrollment, persistence and success.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in applying case management strategies to support students navigating academic, personal or financial challenges.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in facilitating student workshops, presentations and events.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in documenting advising interactions and tracking student progress.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to manage multiple processes, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in engaging positively with all populations and communities, contributing to a safe and inclusive learning and work environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in effectively and respectfully communicating with others.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor degree required. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>4-6 + years of relevant, progressive, professional work experience. </li></ul> <p>Madison College does not offer H-1B or other work authorization visa sponsorship for this position.
