This position is also responsible for supporting the team members with process oversight/improvement and direct coordination with the Plant Production, SI&OP teams, Product Management, Quality, Sourcing and Inventory Control.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Your primary duties and responsibilities will be:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and maintain healthy supplier relationships. </li><li>Coordinate all activities involved with planning and ordering raw materials and/or packaging to meet the needs of the business ensuring no risk to the supply chain. </li><li>Advises management and appropriate parties of material events that can potentially disrupt the production plans. </li><li>Confer with vendors to obtain product information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. </li><li>Apply best practices to optimize the order planning, buying, and inventory management of assigned materials. </li><li>Manages key master data for SKU's including lead time, order quantity, safety stock, and price. </li><li>Lives the company's mission, vision, and values while meeting the responsibilities of the position. </li><li>Use formal systems and processes to analyze production demand, place material orders, schedule deliveries, and manage on-hand and off-site inventories. </li><li>Actions are taken in direct support of company goals for schedule adherence, obsolete write-off, purchase price variance, on-time & in full deliveries, cash flow, and warehouse space utilization. </li><li>Organize and lead calls or meetings as needed for 6 categories, Decision making (ii) Problem solving (iii) Innovation (iv) Kick off/next steps (v) Alignment (vi) Status update. </li><li>Schedules and expedites the approval of materials to support the production schedule and other project-based initiatives. </li><li>Partner with AP and inventory control for invoicing issues to help provide resolution. </li><li>Provide back-up coverage for other Buyers. </li></ul> <p>We believe the successful candidate will have:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent written and verbal communications skills. </li><li>Must have a continuous learning mindset to reflect from the past to make the future better. </li><li>Ability to prioritize. </li><li>Ability to manage time effectively, ask for help and direction as needed. </li><li>Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook </li><li>Knowledge of inventory planning, purchasing procedures, inventory management and supply chain concepts. </li><li>Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment. </li><li>Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure. </li><li>High awareness and understanding of the financial aspect of the business. </li></ul> <p>Educational Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Education: </li><li>Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years' buyer/planner manufacturing experience is preferred. Or 7+ years of relevant or transferable experience in manufacturing environment (without bachelor's degree) </li><li>Experience: </li><li>Experience using an ERP system; JDE experience a plus. </li><li>Understanding of material requirement concepts. </li><li>Strong communication, planning, organizational and analytical skills. </li><li>Ability to solve problems and implement effective corrective actions. </li><li>Proficient to advanced with MS Excel and proficient with MS Office (Word, Outlook) </li><li>Be flexible enough to change with an ever-changing business environment. </li></ul> <p>Success Measurements:</p> <p>30 day</p> <ul> <li>Learn all JDE transactions relevant to the role (training will be provided) </li><li>Complete Meet and Greets with most of the relevant stakeholders and understand what they are looking for from the buyer. </li><li>Spend enough time on the shop floor and understand the production processes and materials you will be managing. </li></ul> <p>60 day</p> <ul> <li>Start creating purchase orders and managing inventory levels for material needs with some supervision and assistance. </li><li>Active with team, participating in meetings and adding input to meetings and discussions. </li><li>Understand forecasts, buyer report and tools provided to manage inventory. </li></ul> <p>90 days</p> <ul> <li>Start to be self-sufficient in managing materials, order placement, deliveries and actively engaged with suppliers. </li><li>Start to identify areas for improvements, best practice evaluations. </li><li>Have an established weekly routine. </li></ul>
