<p>Title: Assistant Group Leader</p> <p>Reports To: Program Director, Monterey Community Center</p> <p>Location: 2100 Monterey Avenue, Bronx, NY 10457</p> <p>Hours: Up to 20 hours/Week; Non-Exempt;</p> <p>Schedule: School Year / September - June / Monday - Friday, 2pm to 6pm</p> <p>Salary: $16.50 / hour</p> <p>Job Summary: The Assistant Group Leader supports and assists staff in carrying out all planned educational and enrichment activities for the after-school enrichment and recreational program.</p> <p>Major Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist the group leader with engaging activities, including sports and recreation, educational, arts and craft and special events</p> </li><li> <p>Collect attendance folder and other data as necessary</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise participants throughout afterschool program</p> </li><li> <p>Distribute snacks and assist with clean-up</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with monitoring and maintaining the rules of the program and upholding the afterschool model</p> </li><li> <p>Support activity instructor(s) with lessons.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with group leader to ensure a safe and supportive environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Follows all GSS, DYCD and SACC regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Must be at least 18 years old.</p> </li><li> <p>Must demonstrate reliable and consistent work habits, and ability to work with other youth.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be available during the program hours listed above.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic team environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective.</p> </li></ul>
