We're proud to be nationally recognized as one of the "Best and Brightest Companies to Work For."</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Erects steel columns and makes proper bolt connections between the rafters and columns, ensuring the building frame is square and plum before the siding and roof is started. </li><li>Per plan, lays out the structural components for installation. </li><li>Uses metal shears, torches, and welding equipment to cut, bend, and weld steel. </li><li>Unloads and stacks prefabricated steel so that it can be lifted easily with slings. </li><li>Directs a crane to lift steel beams, girders, and columns in place. </li><li>Works within the project timeline and budget. </li><li>Installs insulation and side wall panels, ensuring proper layout for the installation of windows and doors as well as other equipment. </li><li>Conducts daily checks of equipment and safe operation procedures. </li><li>Meets the welding specifications of the blueprint and passes welding inspections. </li><li>Ensures new employees are familiar with WBG safety procedures and provides training. </li><li>Cleans work areas, machines, or equipment, to maintain a clean and safe job site. </li><li>Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment. </li><li>Works as a team player. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 3 years experience in PEMB erection. </li><li>2 years crew lead experience in pre-engineered building roof systems. </li><li>Must be proficient in reading PEMB prints. </li><li>Knowledgeable in the structural systems and sidewall systems. </li><li>Must be able/willing to travel to Kalamazoo and the East side of the state when needed. </li><li>Must have reliable, consistent transportation. </li><li>Authorized to work in the United States. </li><li>The following trainings are required (and provided by Wolverine): </li><li>OSHA 10-Hour certified or completed within six months of hire. </li><li>Already or willing to become trained in: </li><li>First Aid and CPR </li><li>Licensed on equipment </li><li>Heavy Machinery operator cards for lifts and telehandlers are required. </li><li>Knowledgeable of crane and telehandler hand signals. </li></ul> <p>Joining our collaborative work environment provides opportunities for advancement, competitive wages, and great benefits including:</p> <ul> <li>Low-cost medical insurance options, including a HDHP with HSA match </li><li>Dental, vision, basic life, voluntary life, short- and long-term disability insurance </li><li>401(k) retirement plan with generous employer match </li><li>Company holidays, parental leave, and paid time off </li><li>Profit-sharing / performance-based bonus </li><li>Personal growth opportunities through training and education; tuition reimbursement </li><li>Opportunities to engage in community involvement and paid volunteer time </li></ul> <p>Wolverine Building Group is an equal opportunity employer.
