<p>Overview</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>Ophthalmic Technician duties include working with patients and physicians for examination and treatment of the eyes.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>JOB RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Greet patients and escort them to room. </li><li>Obtain patient's chief complaint, medical history, medications and allergies, and eye history. </li><li>Check patient's eye prescription with lensometer. </li><li>Check patients vision, pupils, motility, visual field, IOP, Color vision. </li><li>Complete refraction of patient. </li><li>Complete eye dilation on patients as applicable. </li><li>Also includes having consent forms signed and helping with lasers and injects in office </li><li>Cleaning instruments and exam rooms </li><li>Maintain and stock rooms with supplies. </li><li>Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain patient confidentiality at all times. </li><li>Adheres to organizational policy and procedure. </li><li>Translating for patients if applicable. </li><li>All other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED will be required. </li><li>JCAHPO certification and COA/COT preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of ophthalmic testing a plus. </li><li>The ability to speak Spanish is a plus. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Working in "Plus Cylinder" for refracting with phoroptor </li><li>Knowledge of Tonopen, Lensometer, IOL Master, HRT, OCT, HFV, Wavefront Auto-Refractor/Toppgrapher </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS</p> <ul> <li>Normal health clinic environment </li><li>Must be able to work with pediatric patients </li><li>Must be able to work at satellite offices </li></ul> <p>LI-DNI</p>
