The College's comprehensive program of instruction includes associate degrees and certificates in occupational/technical and college/university transfer programs. Non-credit workforce training and special interest classes for individuals, business, and industry are also offered. This is an approximate 20-hour per week position. This is a part-time wage position, limited to 1500 hours within a 12-month period, with no benefits. There is potential eligibility for educational assistance for BRCC classes and job-related training and/or certifications.</p> <p>Job duties:</p> <ul> <li>Provide one-to-one, small group, and/or classroom tutoring services of exceptional quality on a walk-in or scheduled basis </li><li>Integrate effective study and learning strategies, added to subject-area instruction </li><li>Exhibit a positive attitude toward student efforts, and provide consistent feedback to students on progress </li><li>Maintain accurate records of individual and group tutoring sessions </li><li>Protect student confidentiality, at all times </li><li>Provide coverage to the library circulation desk as needed </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Final grade of B or higher from an accredited college or university in the class to be tutored </li><li>Ability to effectively conduct tutoring sessions, both virtually and in person </li><li>Dependability and responsiveness </li><li>Desire to help students and to maximize their potential for academic progress </li><li>Highest level of professionalism </li><li>Ability to be creative in learning methodology </li><li>Understanding and empathetic to student challenges </li></ul> <p>Additional Considerations:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Zoom or another video conferencing platform </li><li>Tutoring or teaching experience </li><li>Customer service experience </li><li>Experience in an academic environment </li><li>Familiarity with EAB Navigate </li><li>Related experience, education or training </li></ul>
