<p>LSI seeks part-time (up to 24 hrs/week) Child Care Associates for Refugee Community Services in Des Moines. This position is during the morning hours (9:00am-12:00pm).</p> <p>DUTIES</p> <p>Provide on-site child care services to clients who are attending training classes. Observe and monitor the needs of children ages 0-10 years for 1-2 hour blocks of time. Organize and engage children in age appropriate activities while ensuring their safety and well being. Assist in preparing snacks and beverages for children and regulate rest periods. Notify and update child guardians of any concerns or issues as they arise. Maintain a safe and healthy environment.</p> <p>This position will be scheduled on an as needed basis to meet client needs, hours and shifts will vary.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma/equivalent and 1 year of experience in child care. Qualified applicants must meet language requirements.</p> <p>Current language needs include Karen, Burmese, Chin, Arabic, Nepali, Kunama, Saho, Tigrynia, Kirundi, and Swahili.</p> <p>This position requires the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.</p> <p>It's their life.
