<p>Assist with instructing recreational pom and dance classes for children ages 5 & up. Skills and performance routines taught to each of the four classes (K, 1st & 2nd grade, 3rd & 4th grade, 5th grade & up). Participants perform at a high school basketball game and at the season-ending recital.</p> <p>Work Schedule - One evening per week. Each class is 40 minutes in length. Thursdays from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Average of 1-3.5 hours per week, depending on the number of classes assisting. Searching for an assistant for the first 2 classes (4:30 pm to 6:30 pm) with the potential to assist additional classes until 8 pm if desired.</p> <p>Location: </p> <p>Classes held at the De Pere Community Center, 600 Grant St., De Pere, WI 54115</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Assist instruct pom & dance classes for youth ages 5 & up in conjunction with the head instructor.  </li><li>May assist choreographing routines appropriate to age group; routines approximately 2 minutes in length.   </li><li>Assist with preparations for recital performances.   </li><li>Communicate with parents and maintain good PR with staff and public. </li><li>Identify and respond to participant behavior issues; document if necessary.  </li><li>Maintain appropriate safety measures for program participants </li></ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Applicant should have knowledge of dance/pom terminology </li><li>Possess the ability to perform advanced pom & dance skills </li><li>Assist with choreographing pom & dance routines and progressively teach a specified age group </li><li>Be energetic, enthusiastic, resourceful, and creative </li><li>Possess the ability to work well with children and communicate effectively.   </li></ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>At least 16 years of age </li><li>Formal education not required </li><li>Pom and dance experience is a must </li><li>Previous teaching experience and experience working with children a plus. </li></ul>
