<p>Who We Are</p> <p>Colorado Retina is a physician, sub-specialty eye care practice providing medical and surgical care of vitreoretinal eye disease. We provide comprehensive treatment for age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular disease, retinal detachments, ocular tumors, uveitis/inflammatory eye disease, inherited retinal degenerations and numerous other vitreoretinal conditions.</p> <p>We are proud to be the largest retina practice in the Rocky Mountain region with the ability to collaborate as a team for highly complex cases. We provide several service locations in the Denver Metro area: East Denver (Central Park), Lakewood, Lafayette, Littleton, and Parker. All candidates, upon hire, will be required to provide proof of vaccination or have a valid accommodation.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Medical record staff are required to send out medical records as requested, ensure requests are processed in a timely fashion, all Colorado Retina Associates correspondence is complete and sent to the appropriate referring physicians and that Colorado Retina Associates is up to date in accordance with Colorado state laws regarding HIPAA guidelines and protection of patient's health information. Medical records staff is also required to know and follow all CRA policies and procedures.</p> <p>Role and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Process all incoming medical record release request</p> </li><li> <p>All attorney requests should be reviewed and approved by management prior to sending.</p> </li><li> <p>Send out all medical records requested by patients or physicians so long as all proper release documentation is in place.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure failed faxes within Nextech, MDI, and/or Employee Health Records are complete and sent out manually.</p> </li><li> <p>Review all incoming faxes for Colorado Retina Associates and send to the appropriate department or scan into the specified patient's chart.</p> </li><li> <p>Process all insurance carrier chart audits and keep management informed of all requests.</p> </li><li> <p>Handle paper chart destruction; abide by Colorado state laws.</p> </li><li> <p>Review chart destruction with lead of department and management prior to completion.</p> </li><li> <p>Know and follow all HIPAA guidelines and protection of PHI.</p> </li><li> <p>Retrieve voicemails and return calls promptly.</p> </li><li> <p>Exceptional communication and prioritization skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate a positive attitude and support for CRA's culture and goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with additional duties as necessary per department lead and management.</p> </li></ul> <p>Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, verbally or in writing.</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED </li><li>Excellent etiquette and communication skills </li><li>Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure </li><li>Ability to work accurately and efficiently </li><li>Knowledge of NextGen EPM, EHR preferred </li><li>Experience with scanning, faxes, Microsoft Excel and Outlook </li><li>Ophthalmic background/experience preferred but not necessary </li><li>CPSS and HIPAA certification a plus </li></ul> <p>Colorado Retina will provide the following compensation and benefit selection:</p> <ul> <li>Base Salary: $21.23 - $33.97 (based on education and experience) </li><li>Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance </li><li>Retirement Safe Harbor/Profit Sharing Plan </li><li>Legal, Life, Accident, Disability, and Hospitalization Insurance </li><li>Pet Insurance and other incentives </li></ul>
