<p>Job Description</p> <p>GENERAL OVERVIEW</p> <p>Under general direction; responsible for inspection, troubleshooting, repair and installation of sensitive fleet communications, computer, and other related safety equipment; maintains</p> <p>preventative maintenance schedules; completes daily records, prepares reports; may develop operational procedure and recommend equipment modifications for upgrade.</p> <p>Performs other related duties as required. Inspect new/old fleet vehicles determine nature of work along with repairs and service and specifications, proper materials. Prepare reports necessary for</p> <p>maintenance for the vehicles, along with highly technical maintenance required for all fleet vehicles old/new.</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Any Combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed below.</p> <p>Completion of a high school level education with advanced technical courses in electronic mobile communication, (LEADS) system compatible computers, automotive electrical systems, and repair plus one (1) year of proven experience in installation, troubleshooting and testing. Direct Current (DC) certification required. Valid State of Ohio operator license required.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES</p> <p>Thorough knowledge of mobile computer technology and installation; automotive electrical systems; vehicle safety and security system installation and repair; communications and safety/security system troubleshooting; department policies and procedures. Advanced knowledge of department goals and objectives. Basic knowledge of inventory control; county purchasing and salvage procedures. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; calculate fractions, decimals, and percentages; control inventories; read electrical/electronic schematics; write basic equipment specifications; prepare records and reports; interpret technical instructions in both written, oral and picture form; deal with abstract problems and many variables in a familiar content; communicate effectively; establish and maintain rapport with personnel, other security force agencies, officials and personnel; use electronic/electrical test equipment. Skills in use of standard hand and power tools used in the repair and installation of communications and safety equipment.</p> <p>JOB DUTIES</p> <p>The duties listed below are intended to depict tasks performed by this classification.</p> <p>Inspects new/old fleet vehicles and related emergency/computer equipment to determine nature of work or service required (e.g., meeting component and material specifications, proper materials of repair; determines need for salvage or auction sale, etc.) and prepares reports and recommendations; schedules vehicles and equipment for highly technical maintenance and/or repair; may transport vehicles and/or equipment as required or necessary.</p> <p>Modifies safety vehicles for specific tasks (e.g., installs emergency safety lights, sirens, computers, radios, etc. . studies resource bulletins and manuals from manufactures; attends special training sessions to maintain proficiency level and for making recommendation for modifications; recommends specific equipment and parts; maintains inventory levels of bench stock; may write specifications for equipment and materials.</p> <p>Operates test equipment to determine source of failure or malfunction on vehicle electrical, computerized mobile radio and light systems; removes, repairs, replaces, installs and calibrates as necessary; bench test new, repaired or refurbished equipment and parts.</p> <p>Open Internal & External</p> <p>Work Schedule</p> <p>Monday through Friday</p> <p>8:00am -4:00 pm.</p> <p>(days off: Saturday & Sunday)</p> <p>Pre-Employment Testing Requirements: Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing, Criminal Background Check</p> <p>Position : 315111001</p> <p>Code : 20253100-6</p> <p>Type : INTERNAL & EXTERNAL</p> <p>Group : SHERIFF CL</p> <p>Job Family : LAW ENFORCEMENT/SECURITY</p> <p>Posting Start : 05/05/2025</p> <p>Posting End : 05/09/2025</p> <p>Details : Join Your Future!</p> <p>SALARY RANGE: $23.49-$28.19</p>
