This role supports Sunnyside operations and helps maintain system reliability, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.</p> <p>Learn more about the great benefits of working for University of Utah: benefits.utah.edu</p> <p>The department may choose to hire at any of the below job levels and associated pay rates based on their business need and budget.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems across Sunnyside facilities.</p> <p>Perform efficiency tests and preventive maintenance, while recommending system improvements.</p> <p>Assist in design and planning for system upgrades or plumbing integrations.</p> <p>Ensure compliance with local and national HVAC regulations.</p> <p>Recharge air conditioning and refrigeration systems using appropriate refrigerants.</p> <p>Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration-related electrical components.</p> <p>Help maintain cooling towers and water-cooled equipment.</p> <p>Utilize building automation systems for monitoring and diagnostics.</p> <p>Complete documentation and participate in rotating on-call schedule.</p> <p>Mentor or assist less experienced technicians depending on level.</p> <p>Work with a diverse range of equipment including water cooled heat pumps, cooling towers, pumps, air handlers, and refrigeration systems.</p> <p>Perform efficiency testing and system optimization.</p> <p>Use BAS controls for diagnostics and operation.</p> <p>Participate in after-hours on-call rotations.</p> <p>Work collaboratively with skilled team members while also exercising independent problem-solving.</p> <p>Other duties, as assigned.</p> <p>HVAC Technician, III.</p> <p>Completes assignments with little supervision.
