The primary responsibility of the organizational unit is providing cleaning, sanitizing, and pest control services to over 10 million square feet of campus space. This service is provided through the utilization of over 320 staff members. The overall function of this position is to utilize a standard cleaning assignment to clean and sanitize an area of responsibility within a building.</p> <p>Key responsibilities and duties include, but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Provide cleaning, sanitizing, and pest control services across 10 million square feet of campus space </li><li>Utilize standard cleaning assignments to sanitize designated areas within buildings </li><li>Report discrepancies and respond to emergencies and inclement weather </li><li>Use standard housekeeping equipment for tasks including vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, disinfecting, and replenishing supplies </li><li>Remove recycling from centralized indoor recycling sites </li><li>Periodically strip and refinish floors, as well as shampoo and extract carpets </li><li>Perform periodic pressure washing of entrances, exterior walls, and windows </li><li>Conduct seasonal window washing as necessary </li></ul> <p>Other Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform snow and ice removal within a team environment during inclement weather, in addition to coordinating with coworkers during group response to emergencies. Perform team cleaning tasks and projects during breaks and when space is accessible </li><li>May be required to periodically strip and refinish floors, as well as shampoo and extract carpets. Periodic pressure washing of entrances, exterior walls, and windows may be required. Seasonal window washing may be required </li><li>May be required to fill in for absenteeism outside of assigned area </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Experience/Education</p> <p>Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.</p> <p>Special certification may be required for some of these positions.</p> <p>Other Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to lift 30 lbs frequently and up to 60 lbs occasionally, with or without a reasonable accommodation. </li><li>Must be able to grasp, push and pull cleaning equipment. </li><li>Must be able to reach to perform cleaning duties above shoulders. </li><li>Job requires frequent bending and squatting. </li><li>Must be able to climb and balance on a ladder up to 8ft. </li><li>Must be able to distinguish between colors. </li><li>Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and the general public.
