<p>Position Overview</p> <p>The role of the Estimator is to estimate the amount of material, equipment and labor necessary for all construction projects. The Estimator works with blueprints to prepare a complete list of all job costs.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <ul> <li>Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. </li><li>Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops. </li><li>Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. </li><li>Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. </li><li>Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work. </li><li>Work with design </li><li>Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors. </li><li>Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components. </li><li>Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project. </li><li>Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors. </li><li>Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures. </li><li>Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers </li><li>Other duties, as needed </li></ul> <p>Required Skills and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 5-7 years of experience in construction/ plumbing estimation. </li><li>Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards. </li><li>In-depth knowledge of construction industry standards, codes, and regulations. </li><li>Willingness to travel to project sites and client meetings as required. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>Environment</p> <ul> <li>Office environment with occasional interruptions </li><li>The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate </li><li>Evening and/or early morning, and/or weekend and holiday hours periodically </li><li>Ability to work remote with management approval </li></ul> <p>Physical Abilities</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
