<p>MPS Group, Inc., is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team at our Headquarters located in Farmington Hills, MI. This individual will support the organization's Job Cost accounting practices and financial reporting by performing the following duties personally or with others.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Actively participate with Operations in managing the life cycle of a job from RFQ, job creation, billing, purchasing and customer and supplier payments.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate the establishment of annual job budgets and periodic forecast updates for the divisions.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform month end closing duties and reporting per the departmental close calendar.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide and direct procedures necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services for the division.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with operations personnel to identify issues impacting the jobs and determine financial impact. Including but not limited to the following:</p> </li><li> <p>Secure Customer PO's in a timely manner</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate timely invoicing and provide assistance with collections when necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Be cognizant of supplier invoicing to assist in accrual of costs for the time period.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure correct revenue recognition in accordance with ERP system calculation</p> </li><li> <p>Provide recommendations for best practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in divisional and departmental meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide accounting systems training and updates for operations.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform duties, which may be assigned by the leadership team and/or general management.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate analysis, reporting, and other duties together with the finance team.</p> </li><li> <p>Adhere to the Quality Systems and participate in continuous improvement.</p> </li></ul> <p>Requirements and Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors Degree or equivalent; or minimum of seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Experience in accounting principles is essential. Advanced (of strong) Excel skills desired. </li><li>Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. </li><li>Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. </li><li>Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers. </li><li>Apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. </li><li>Apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. </li><li>Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. </li></ul>
