<p>This job will be accepting job applications until the position is filled.</p> <p>Annual Salary:</p> <p>$39,819.00 - $41,808.00</p> <p>Hourly:</p> <p>$20.42 - $21.44</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>Livability & Tourism, Public Safety</p> <p>Division:</p> <p>Livability</p> <p>FLSA:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>In this role, you will maintain beautification of the City by inspecting and enforcing livability codes by managing graffiti, vacant or overgrown properties, and other street-level blight.</p> <p>Examples of Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Patrols the City looking for graffiti and overgrown lots that are unsightly or pose a threat to the safety and security of the neighborhood. </li><li>Reports graffiti, overgrown lots and other code violations using an industrial electronic device. </li><li>Prepares and processes inspection reports. </li><li>Issues violation notices. </li><li>Removes graffiti using a variety to cleaners and equipment including a hand-held power washer. </li><li>Manages vacant properties and overgrown lots by clearing/cleaning properties with a variety of hand-held and power tools, including boarding vacant buildings. </li><li>Performs debris removal, cleaning, clearing of city-owned properties and rights-of-way. </li><li>Operates push and riding lawn mowers. </li><li>Performs other duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1.5 years of work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software. </li><li>Valid state issued driver's license. </li></ul> <p>The City of Charleston is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity ( EEOC) as a fundamental policy to be implemented and observed in our daily operation.
