<p>The Department of Cancer Prevention and Control is currently accepting applications for a (Hybrid) Temporary Program Assistant II with the WVU Cancer Institute. This position will provide administrative, clerical and programmatic support to the Department of Cancer Prevention and Control, within the WVU School of Medicine at the WVU Cancer Institute.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li>Provide administrative activities related to community outreach, education and communication for Cancer and Prevention and Control. </li><li>Assists in drafts proofreads, preparation and dissemination of cancer information through the development of resources such as handouts, flyers, presentations, updating internal and external communications, posters, infographics, social media, websites, etc. </li><li>Assists with conducting literature searches and reviews. </li><li>Contribute to the dissemination of findings and projects associated with the CHATS Lab </li><li>May Contribute to articles, abstracts, and posters to promote programmatic work and outreach of CPC. </li><li>Functions as a member of the CPC staff and participates in staff meetings, required conferences, training seminars, program meetings, regular team meetings, etc. Includes conferences and training seminars provided by the WVUCI, Mountains of Hope (MOH) Cancer Coalition, and other relevant entities. </li><li>Function as a member of Cancer Prevention and Control (CPC). Assists with other CPC program activities as requested by Senior Staff members. </li><li>Participates in and contributes to the mission and vision of WVU Cancer Institute (WVUCI) and the Department of Cancer Prevention and Control (CPC). </li></ul> <p>Pay Grade: 13</p> <p>Length of Assignment: Approximately 8 months</p> <p>Work Hours: 37.5 Hours per week</p> <ul> <li>Associate's Degree in a related field. </li><li>A minimum of one (1) year of related experience. </li><li>Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered. </li><li>All qualifications must be met by the time of employment. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication, including writing correspondence and preparing reports. </li><li>Strong time management, organization, and multi-tasking abilities. </li><li>Skilled at synthesizing discussions for documentation and preparing accurate meeting minutes. </li><li>Ability to establish priorities, adhere to deadlines, have high attention to detail and follow through, and ability to maintain confidentiality. </li><li>Demonstrates proficiency with general computer applications including Microsoft Office. </li><li>Commitment to principles of community, diversity, and inclusion. </li><li>Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays, working outside the traditional work week when needed. </li><li>Ability to maintain proper attendance and punctuality standards. </li><li>Ability to interact sensitively, effectively, and professionally with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds and persons of all ages and orientations. </li></ul>
