<p>The purpose of this position is to provide public services assisting with land transactions for Beaufort County. Records and verifies land documents, collects fees, and searches documents when requested. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.</p> <p>The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.</p> <ul> <li>Reviews documents to ensure they meet recording requirements and scans recorded documents. </li><li>Returns recorded documents to customers/attorneys. </li><li>Assists the public and interested parties with documents. </li><li>Researches older documents and other information. </li><li>Collects fees. </li><li>Answers and directs phone calls. </li><li>Performs related work as assigned. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REOUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent. </li><li>Over one year and up to and including two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. </li></ul> <p>All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment.
