As a Senior Competitive Intelligence Specialist, you will support Kirkland & Ellis' Competitive Intelligence team within the Firm's broader Business Development function. In this role, you'll transform complex research into actionable intelligence that strengthens our market position and fuels new business initiatives. You'll collaborate closely with colleagues across time zones, contributing to a highly engaged international team dedicated to delivering clear, compelling research that informs firmwide strategy.</p> <ul> <li>Develop intelligence reports by researching clients, prospective clients, competitors, and industries to support strategic planning and business development priorities. </li><li>Conduct in-depth research across the Firm's practice areas using a wide range of internal and external sources covering industries, geographies, and transaction types. </li><li>Analyze and interpret data to compile competitive metrics and deliver insights aligned with stakeholder needs. </li><li>Monitor news and market developments to support proactive Competitive Intelligence (CI) initiatives. </li><li>Manage stakeholder relationships by clarifying expectations, delivering responsive support, and maintaining a high level of service. </li><li>Contribute to team initiatives and assist with additional projects and duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Bring</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree, with a Master's degree in library and information science preferred; with 5+ years of research or competitive intelligence experience in a law firm or professional services environment. </li><li>Research and analytical strengths: Ability to synthesize information, interpret trends, troubleshoot issues, and present findings clearly. </li><li>Communication and collaboration skills: Comfortable working with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels while maintaining a polished, professional presence. </li><li>Adaptability and judgment: Ability to pivot quickly, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments. </li><li>Attention to detail: Demonstrated accuracy, accountability, and commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism. </li><li>Technical expertise: Advanced proficiency with market intelligence and legal research platforms, including AlphaSense, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, BoardEx, S&P Capital IQ, Preqin, The Deal Pipeline, Pitchbook, and Mergermarket; experience with client relationship management (CRM) systems such as InterAction or Salesforce is a plus. This range may differ based on your geographic location and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary. We offer an exceptional range of flexible benefits including comprehensive healthcare, paid time off, and retirement.
