In this role, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Performs and documents an initial exam, evaluating data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention. Reviews physician's referral and patient's medical records to help determine diagnosis and physical therapy treatment required. </li><li>Plans, prepares, or carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, or prevent physical dysfunction in patients. </li><li>Administers manual exercises, massage, or traction to help relieve pain, increase patient strength, or decrease or prevent deformity or crippling. </li><li>Tests and measures patient's strength, motor development and function, sensory perception, functional capacity, or respiratory or circulatory efficiency and record data. </li><li>Instructs patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home. </li></ul> <p>Education/Training/Certifications: Graduate of a physical therapy curriculum approved by one of the following: The American Physical Therapy Association; The Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association; The Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association and the American Physical Therapy Association.</p> <p>Current Physical Therapist state license</p> <p>Skill(s): Excellent verbal and written communication, service orientation, critical thinking, instructing, listening & time management.</p> <p>Experience: Minimum 2 years practicing as Physical Therapist; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</p> <p>LSMNJ is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p> <p>We have awesome benefits!
