<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Special Education Program Specialist (Instructional Coach) needed at Spring-Ford Area School District</p> <p>Spring-Ford Area School District is actively recruiting a Special Education Program Specialist (Instructional Coach) to work with teachers in grades 5-12.</p> <p>The Special Education Program Specialist (Instructional Coach) is a certified special education professional with expertise in instructional practices, curriculum implementation, behavioral supports, and programming for students with students with complex support needs. The specialist provides ongoing instructional coaching, programmatic support, and professional learning to staff serving students in full-time Autistic Support, Life Skills Support, and Emotional Support programs across grades 5-12.</p> <p>The position focuses on improving student outcomes through evidence-based instructional and behavioral practices, collaborative problem-solving, data-driven decision making, and support for high-quality special education programming within both special education and inclusive educational environments.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide ongoing instructional coaching and programmatic support to special education teachers and support staff within 5-12 low-incidence programs, including full-time Autistic Support, Life Skills Support, and Emotional Support classrooms </li><li>Support implementation of evidence-based instructional practices, behavioral interventions, communication systems, social-emotional learning strategies, and functional/adaptive skill development </li><li>Model effective instructional strategies, classroom management techniques, and behavioral supports within classroom settings </li><li>Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, behavior specialists, and administrators to develop and maintain high-quality programming aligned with student needs and district expectations </li><li>Assist staff in analyzing student performance data, progress monitoring measures, behavioral data, and assessment information to guide instructional planning and interventions </li><li>Support and collaborate with special education teachers in IEP development, specially designed instruction, goal implementation, progress monitoring, and compliance-related practices </li><li>Assist teachers in developing curriculum modifications, accommodations, adaptations, and differentiated instructional materials to support student access and engagement </li><li>Support implementation of assistive technology, augmentative communication systems, visual supports, and other specialized instructional tools for students with complex learning and behavioral needs </li><li>Facilitate implementation of research-based instructional models and evidence-based practices designed to improve outcomes for students with low-incidence disabilities </li><li>Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback, mentoring, and reflective coaching to promote professional growth and instructional effectiveness </li><li>Design and facilitate professional development opportunities for special education teachers, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service staff </li><li>Collaborate with district administration and supervisors to support consistency, continuity, and alignment of low-incidence programming across grade levels and buildings </li><li>Support problem-solving and crisis response related to student behavioral, instructional, and programmatic needs as appropriate </li><li>Maintain current knowledge of special education regulations, instructional methodologies, behavioral practices, and emerging trends related to low-incidence disabilities </li><li>Perform any other job-related duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent or designee. </li></ul> <p>This in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position. The teacher will be required to follow any other job-related instructions and perform other job-related duties requested by the Superintendent and/or their designees.</p> <p>Certification:</p> <p>Must have a valid and active PA Special Education Special Education PK-12 or Special Education PK-8 and 7-12 certification.</p> <p>Compensation:</p> <p>Spring-Ford Area School District offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision and prescription insurance, as well as paid time off and a tuition reimbursement program.
