They are responsible for leading and motivating a fast-paced team, optimizing processes, maintaining safety standards, ensuring inventory accuracy, and utilizing WMS systems for reporting and order management. This role involves coordinating with other departments, overseeing shipping, and receiving activities, and implementing strategies for inventory control. Warehouse Supervisors also ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and legal requirements. Our supply chain at UNFI is focused on providing superior service, quality and efficiency, improving every day to meet customers' unique needs.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provides direction and proper motivation to leads and line employees to ensure the daily workload is completed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. </li><li>Maintains a positive presence on the floor throughout the shift. </li><li>Supervises all warehouse functions. </li><li>Completes appropriate paperwork and reports as required. </li><li>Provides new hire and follow- up training for all employees. </li><li>Performs job evaluations and communicates results to employees. </li><li>Evaluates work performance of personnel regarding promotions, absenteeism, commendations, and disciplinary action. </li><li>Communicates with other members of management and departments to ensure that goals are accomplished. </li><li>Maintains a safe, clean work environment. Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and regulations regarding fire and other potential emergencies. </li><li>Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li><li>Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available. </li></ul> <p>Performance Measurements:</p> <ul> <li>Warehouse receiving and delivery processes are efficient and effective. Problems are tracked and promptly solved. </li><li>Inventory levels are appropriate, controlled, and accurately recorded. </li><li>Documents, computer records, and files are current and accurate. </li><li>Safety regulations and procedures are followed. </li><li>Professional business relations exist with suppliers, vendors, outside contacts and internal departments. </li><li>Management is appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant problems. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree or equivalent experience. </li></ul> <p>Required Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>Basic knowledge of purchasing and inventory procedures and policies. </li><li>Understanding of required computer applications. </li><li>Familiarity with courier and mailing functions. </li></ul> <p>Experience Required:</p> <ul> <li>Three or more years of progressive related experience. </li></ul> <p>Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent leadership abilities. </li><li>Able to organize, coordinate, and direct team activities. </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills. </li><li>Able to use all related maintenance equipment and computer applications. </li><li>Attentive to detail. </li><li>Good communication and public relations skills. </li><li>Able to operate PC and use Microsoft Office Applications: Word and Excel </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <p>Onsite Role:</p> <ul> <li>This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center or office. </li></ul> <p>Physical Environment/Demands:</p> <p>Warehouse Roles:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. </li><li>Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation. </li><li>Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures. </li><li>Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment. </li><li>Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.
