<p>About American International College:</p> <p>American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on a 88+ acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campus has 42 buildings on two sites approximately 1/2 mile apart. Included in the inventory of buildings are student residences for a resident population of 900 students. Founded in 1885, the College has approximately 2200 graduate and undergraduate students. We are an EEO employer and we welcome applications from individuals for positions where they are underrepresented.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>The School of Business, Arts, and Sciences, Division of Arts, Media and Design (AMD) seeks qualified individuals to teach courses supporting the Graphic Arts and Design major and minor, as well as other courses supporting AMD programs. The qualified applicant will have proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools.</p> <ul> <li>Teach 30 credit hours per academic year (generally 15 credits hours per academic semester) as assigned by the Dean, and maintain a minimum of four scheduled office hours weekly. </li><li>Participate in course and curriculum development, and in the ongoing design and continuous implementation of assessment of student learning outcomes and academic programs. </li><li>Engage in professional development appropriate to one's discipline, teaching responsibilities, and other academic responsibilities. </li><li>Assist with the recruitment, retention, and mentorship of students. Engage and interact with students in positive ways, such as by guiding student research projects, by serving as the advisor to student clubs and organizations, or by mentoring students in other scholarly activities. </li><li>Be involved in the campus community through service on Faculty committees, and attendance at and/or participation in Academic Affairs, School, Faculty, and divisional meetings, and other institutional events. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Graphic Design or related field. </li><li>2-5 years experience in Graphic Arts and Design or related field. </li><li>Strong commitment to high-quality instruction in a diverse, student-centered environment and the ability to work with students with various learning styles and backgrounds </li><li>Enthusiastic, committed teacher-scholar with demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching and scholarship with a demonstrated commitment to the implementation of innovative teaching strategies. </li><li>Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools.
