<p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Outreach</p> <ul> <li>Connect with organizations and businesses in Dane County that support aging well via services, programs, and other resources. </li><li>Connect with organizations and businesses that work with older adults and/or their families to help educate them about the missions of SAIL and Safe at Home including the resources and opportunities these programs offer. </li><li>Recruit volunteers to work with Safe at Home to provide home safety assessments. </li><li>Provide community presentations on Safe at Home and related topics and connect with underserved neighborhoods and at-risk older adults to encourage participation. </li><li>Work collaboratively with the staff team in planning educational programs and social events; assisting with events as needed and assists with monthly newsletter content. </li><li>Tracks relationships, participation, collaborative activities for Safe at Home and makes recommendations to leadership for any formal collaborations-one time or ongoing. </li></ul> <p>Services</p> <ul> <li>Engage with SAIL members to get to know them and learn about their needs, interests, and preferences. </li><li>Engage with current SAIL Service Providers (this includes Professional Service Providers) to learn about their services and explore opportunities to enhance the value of SAIL membership via the offerings of Service Providers or others. </li><li>Recruit new service providers to support member needs and requests. </li><li>Match member service requests with volunteers or paid service provider suggestions and connect members and Safe at Home participants with resources; regularly communicates with members and follows up as needed; serves as an advocate as needed. Works with Safe at Home Program Coordinator ensuring participants have connections with needed services. </li><li>Collaborate with staff team members including Volunteer and Member Services Specialist, Office Coordinator, and Safe at Home Program Coordinator to problem solve, provide updates, etc. </li><li>Enters SAIL member data to Club Express to ensure proper tracking of activities and contacts with volunteers and service providers and tracks all activities related to Safe at Home related to this position. </li><li>Works collaboratively with team members and members of the SAIL Teams and the SAIL Operating Council when requested to find solutions. </li><li>Assists with Rise and Shine check in service-occasionally during the week and/or weekend coverage. </li><li>Assists in maintaining, through personal conduct, an atmosphere that is efficient, organized, professional, and friendly. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Essential Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication skills and commitment to the highest degree of customer service possible. Ability to work well with a team. </li><li>Basic outreach and presentation skills. </li><li>Able to demonstrate on a consistent basis: exceptional customer service, warmth, tact, diplomacy and patience, to membership as well as to staff, volunteers, service providers, community organizations, and general public. </li><li>Ability to learn specific falls prevention strategies and how to provide a home safety assessment aimed at falls prevention. </li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Office and willing to learn Club Express. </li><li>Ability to maintain and protect confidential information. </li><li>Interest in working with older adults; willingness to continually learn about aging and how to help older adults age successfully. </li><li>Ability to multi-task and work independently. </li><li>Knowledge of and understanding of functional changes and challenges facing older adults. </li><li>Recognizes and promotes the contributions and strengths of older adults. </li><li>Awareness of community resources and services especially related to older adults. </li><li>Have analytical and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Committed to quality service. </li><li>Access to a vehicle for work purposes. </li><li>Ability to work flexible hours. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Two years' minimum experience in working with older adults. Administrative experience with an emphasis on customer service is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Education/Training</p> <ul> <li>Minimum associate degree in health, human and/or social services, or related field. Bachelor's degree in social work or related field is preferred. </li></ul>
