<p>Overall Job Summary</p> <p>This position is responsible for managing the Company's federal, state, and local income tax compliance and tax accounting processes. These responsibilities include the evaluation of changes to the income tax laws and regulations of the U.S., the states, and the localities in which the company conducts business for income taxes, assessing their impacts to the Company, and updating processes to accommodate. This position is also responsible for managing the company's compliance with state franchise tax and federal excise taxes.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)</p> <ul> <li>Manages the quarterly and annual tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740 and related financial statement disclosures, evaluates the need for new FIN 48 positions or adjustments to positions, and is responsible for SOX procedures. </li><li>Manages the income tax compliance process including the accurate and timely filing of the consolidated federal return, various state and local returns, quarterly estimates, and extensions. </li><li>Leads tax forecasting and planning and communicates updates regularly with Finance. </li><li>Partners effectively with the business to consult and advise on tax impacts of business decisions and ensures compliance is maintained with all tax requirements. </li><li>Manages income and other tax audits and inquiries by government authorities. </li><li>Manages tax consultant relationships and reviews their deliverables for tax credit calculations, cost segregation studies, and other projects, as necessary. </li><li>Identifies and implements opportunities for tax optimization projects and strategies to reduce the effective tax rate and minimize cash taxes. </li><li>Partners externally with consultants and internally with business stakeholders to review transfer pricing policies annually and make updates to legal entity reporting accordingly. </li><li>Lead, mentor, and develop the income tax team </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Experience: Minimum of 8 years direct tax experience in a public accounting or corporate environment working directly in multi-state income taxation is required.</p> <p>Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar course of study. Master's degree in taxation or Accounting with (tax emphasis) is preferred.</p> <p>Professional Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or comparable certification is preferred.</p> <p>Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge and proficiency with income tax compliance software (e.g. OneSource RS) is required. </li><li>Proficient with OneSource Tax Provision (OTP) required. </li><li>Knowledge of international tax desired, but not required. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Power Bi. </li><li>Alteryx or Knime experience desired, but not required. </li><li>Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Normal office working conditions </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Sitting </li><li>Standing (not walking) </li><li>Lifting up to 10 pounds </li></ul> <p>Disclaimer</p> <p>This job description represents an overview of the responsibilities for the above referenced position.
