<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Title: Culinary Lab Technician</p> <p>Unit: Part-Time Non-Unit Support Staff</p> <p>Department: Academic Affairs, Hospitality & Culinary Arts Program</p> <p>Reports to: Culinary Program Coordinator</p> <p>Date: August 12, 2025</p> <p>General Summary: The Hospitality & Culinary Arts Program at Middlesex Community College is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative individual to serve as the Culinary Lab Technician on the Lowell Campus. This position offers a unique opportunity to support the educational mission of the culinary program by managing and maintaining the kitchen and lab spaces while ensuring a safe, clean, and well-equipped environment for students and faculty. The Technician will assist culinary faculty with lab setup and supply coordination while supporting day-to-day kitchen operations aligned with health and safety standards.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lab & Kitchen Operations</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate with culinary faculty to determine kitchen and lab supply needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee shopping and ordering of all necessary ingredients and supplies for culinary classes.</p> </li><li> <p>Receive and stock deliveries, process invoices, and maintain records of all purchase orders.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor, maintain, and ensure the cleanliness and readiness of culinary spaces prior to scheduled classes.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain inventory of kitchen and cleaning supplies; replenish as needed to ensure operational efficiency.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor solution levels for dishwashing and sanitation equipment; order and refill as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate repair and maintenance of kitchen equipment using the SchoolDude maintenance request system.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with cafeteria vendors regarding maintenance, cleanliness, and space coordination</p> </li><li> <p>Health & Safety Compliance:</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment in accordance with OSHA safety protocols and ServSafe Manager standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and resolve any operational issues impacting equipment usage or space functionality.</p> </li><li> <p>Faculty & Student Support:</p> </li><li> <p>Provide onsite support to adjunct culinary faculty during class hours.</p> </li><li> <p>Foster a positive and collaborative atmosphere that supports student learning and success.</p> </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School diploma or equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in the culinary arts or restaurant field</p> </li><li> <p>Current ServSafe Food Handler Certification</p> </li><li> <p>Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse college community</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Hourly Rate: $20.75 in accordance with Middlesex Community College's Part-Time Wage Schedule</p> <p>Location: Lowell campus with occasional travel to Bedford as needed</p> <p>Hours: 18.5 per week, schedule to be determined upon hire</p> <p>Expected Start Date: September/October 2025</p> <p>Application Deadline: September 2, 2025</p> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>All applicants must apply online by submitting:</p> <ul> <li>Cover Letter </li><li>Resume </li><li>Names and contact information for three (3) professional references </li></ul> <p>Pre-Employment Requirements:</p> <p>The College will not sponsor applicants for work visas.</p> <p>All offers of employment at Middlesex Community College are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check.
