Enjoy June and July off!)</p> <p>Brief Description of Duties:</p> <p>SUNY Morrisville is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Health Services team.</p> <p>The Licensed Practical Nurse is a vital member of our Health Services team that is committed to providing confidential, high quality, student-centered medical care to currently enrolled SUNY Morrisville students. The Health Services team strive to promote and support student wellness through treatment, education, and prevention in a caring atmosphere that respects the unique qualities of each individual.</p> <p>The successful candidate for this position will be a team player and open to continuous improvement. We are willing to provide training and mentorship to motivated candidates.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Perform nursing care tasks and procedures including IM/SC medication administration, specimen collection and vital sign documentation in conjunction with clinical staff </li><li>Engage in health teaching including signs and symptoms of medication side effects, disease process and management, and health promotion </li><li>Perform laboratory specimen management </li><li>Complete charting in a timely manner </li><li>Adhere to all aspects of HIPAA confidentiality </li><li>Assist with clerical duties including medical/immunization data input for Banner, answering phones and making appointments for both Health Services and Counseling Services </li><li>Promote a team environment in providing high quality care </li><li>Provide outreach efforts and promote Health Services via passive and active awareness campaigns, health fairs, etc. </li><li>Attend professional trainings to maintain license and maintain/expand medical knowledge </li><li>Maintain certification in CPR/AED </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Currently licensed as Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State. </li><li>2+ years of experience </li><li>Sensitivity and willingness to work with a diverse student community. </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in venipuncture </li><li>Experience working with young adults </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>SUNY Morrisville is committed to creating a vibrant community enriched by diverse perspectives, talents and experiences, and prohibits discrimination in employment based on gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, physical capability, age, creed, sexual identity, veteran status, and economic means.
