These activities are performed in accordance with all existing regulatory, state and company standards, policies and procedures. Helps the Phlebotomy supervisor with oversight of all draw stations.</p> <p>Written and verbal communication skills are essential. The Phlebotomy Team Leader will be instrumental in coaching and mentoring new employees. This position serves as a role model for team members and must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and adherence to policies and procedures at all times.</p> <p>Key Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li>Performs all duties within the draw station and infusion laboratory environment (same job duties as a Phlebotomist) and distributes responsibilities appropriately throughout the division. </li><li>Assists with creating phlebotomist schedules and assigning work, resolving problems, enforcing policies and procedures, coaching, and providing input to performance evaluations, etc. </li><li>Helps to train new employees on procedures, policies and workflows. </li><li>Continually strives to improve quality and productivity by identifying improvement opportunities and recommending and implementing changes. </li><li>Uses resources effectively and efficiently to achieve the goals, objectives and deadlines within the Laboratory. </li><li>Provide coverage when scheduled or in emergency situations (callouts). </li><li>Maintains strict confidentiality. </li><li>Adheres to OSHA regulations. </li><li>Adheres to CLIA regulations. </li><li>Performs other duties as requested. </li></ul> <p>Relationships</p> <ul> <li>Reports to the Phlebotomy Supervisor and Laboratory Manager. </li><li>Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients, providers, staff, peer group, Corporate administration, EHR and other internal departments, computer services provider, and vendors. </li><li>Leads team as directed. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Two to three years relevant experience preferred, with at least one year of experience in the role that the incumbent will be overseeing. </li><li>Outstanding organizational and prioritization skills with a work history of increasing responsibilities. </li><li>Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and good math skills. </li><li>Excellent writing and keyboarding skills. </li><li>Advanced interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and physicians. </li><li>Capable of team-building, able to work in a team and to share responsibilities and duties; to work effectively and professionally under pressure and within established time-lines. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions, Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Incumbent may be required to work at any facility based on operation need, and schedule may vary. </li><li>Potential travel to various practice locations will require ability to drive, valid driver's license and use of own reliable transportation. </li><li>Requires full body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. </li><li>Physical activity will include walking, standing, and sitting. </li><li>Physical demands may also include lifting and carrying equipment up to 50 lbs. </li><li>Other physical requirements include speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate effectively by phone or in person at normal volumes; vision adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc.; and good manual dexterity. </li></ul> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
