<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Student Support Services/Social Worker</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>6/9/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Hamtramck Public Schools</p> <p>District:</p> <p>  Hamtramck Public Schools  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>REPORTS TO: School Administrator(s)/Director of Special Services</p> <p>SUMMARY:</p> <p>To provide social, emotional, and behavioral support services in a collaborative manner as an</p> <p>essential part of the school team.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Education: Possession of a master's degree School Social Work and completion of a 500-clock hour,</p> <p>supervised internship with school-aged persons in an approved School Social Work training program.</p> <p>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Able to meet the Office of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs</p> <p>(LARA) licensing requirements as a Limited License or Full License School Social Worker in the State</p> <p>of Michigan and holds current approval by the Michigan Department of Education as a Temporary,</p> <p>Continuing, or fully approved School Social Worker.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>? In accordance with the established policies and procedures of the District, provides supportive services for</p> <p>eligible students enrolled in general, vocational or special education programs.</p> <p>? Provides casework services to address personal, social, or emotional concerns related to students'</p> <p>educational and social progress.</p> <p>? Works with families of diverse cultural backgrounds.</p> <p>? Utilizes a variety of assessments to determine the need for special education services and to support</p> <p>student's social-emotional well-being.</p> <p>? Collaborates with school-based leadership team on MTSS activities.</p> <p>? Provides MTSS Tier 3 services (i.e., Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans</p> <p>(BIPs), etc.) integrating multiple data/information sources, including formal/informal observation of</p> <p>behaviors that interfere with learning.</p> <p>? Collects necessary, relevant data through the demonstrated ability to administer/interpret/ analyze</p> <p>standardized assessments.</p> <p>? Maintains accurate and timely records for the purpose of monitoring student progress.</p> <p>? Reviews, analyzes, and revises implementation plans and interventions.</p> <p>? Provides crisis prevention, planning, and intervention services, including assessments of the impact of</p> <p>trauma on development, learning, and school performance.</p> <p>? Attends IEP/child study meetings and contributes to the IEP process, writing goals and objectives and</p> <p>recommending service time and frequency.</p> <p>? Active involvement and participation in building MTSS team.</p> <p>? Engages parent(s)/guardian(s) in examining how the school and home can effectively work together to</p> <p>improve the overall educational success of the student.</p> <p>? Provides support to students and families relative to students' educational progress, community advocacy</p> <p>and referrals.</p> <p>? Facilitates Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports.</p> <p>? Maintains the confidentiality of student records and student information.</p> <p>? Participates in professional development and Professional Learning Communities.</p> <p>?
