<p>GENERAL SUMMARY:</p> <p>Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of clerical, technical, and patient related duties according to established protocols. The Radiology Technologist Assistant is responsible for assisting members of the Radiology team and providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, exam review, preparation for the visit, patient education, assistance with exams/procedures and patient transporting. May be assigned to work in a variety of imaging sections, assist multiple radiology modalities and /or clinical services per operational needs. Performs related duties as required.</p> <p>PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Assist patients and staff in Radiology Imaging Departments. </li><li>Explain examination procedures to patients, help prepare them for the exam and review any screening forms associated with the exam. </li><li>Assist Radiology/Imaging Team with Electronic Health Record data entry. </li><li>Prepare procedure room and work areas to ensure stock is replenished (linen and related supplies) and the area is kept neat and clean. </li><li>Perform clerical duties to include answering telephones, patient scheduling, RIS functions. </li><li>Transport and escort patients to and from Radiology, both in hospital and ambulatory settings Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:</p> <ul> <li>High School graduate or equivalent required. </li><li>Basic computer knowledge required. </li><li>Medical knowledge and terminology preferred. </li><li>One (1) year clinical experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:</p> <ul> <li>Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification required upon hire or during orientation to department. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <ul> <li>Organization: Henry Ford Hospital - Detroit Main Campus </li><li>Department: Rad Magnetic Resonance Imaging </li><li>Shift: Day Job </li><li>Union Code: Not Applicable </li></ul>
