No Pay Information 59,700-63,000 Pay Schedule Annually FLSA Designation Exempt Position Summary</p> <p>The Assistant Director of Experiential Learning plays a pivotal role in advancing UNO's commitment to community engagement and career readiness. This position leads the Student Service and Leadership Collaborative and supports campus-wide experiential learning initiatives, internships, and career development programs. The role requires strong relationship-building skills, a passion for student success, and a collaborative spirit to engage with community partners, faculty, and staff.</p> <p>Job Duties</p> <p>Responsibility Area: Student Service and Leadership Collaborative\ Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Recruits, onboards, and matches student interns with local nonprofit and community partners. </li><li>Serves as the primary point of contact for students and community partners throughout the internship experience, providing guidance and support. </li><li>Develops and sustains strong partnerships with community-based organizations to expand internship placements for students. </li><li>Manages program budgets, including student intern funding and operational expenses as applicable. </li><li>Coordinates donor relations in collaboration with the NU Foundation, including stewardship efforts and impact storytelling to showcase student and community outcomes. </li><li>Leads program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts, collecting and analyzing data related to student learning, community impact, and partner satisfaction. </li><li>Prepares reports for internal stakeholders, external funders, and campus leadership to communicate program outcomes, trends, and strategic recommendations. </li></ul> <p>Percentage Of Time 50 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Experiential Learning and Internship Initiatives\ Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Provides advising and coaching for students pursuing internships, service opportunities, and other experiential learning pathways. </li><li>Supports the implementation and promotion of experiential learning initiatives across campus. </li><li>Serves as a resource and advisor for the Nebraska Career Scholars Program. </li><li>Leads the Committee for Practicum and Internship Experience to foster collaboration and share best practices across academic and co-curricular programs. </li></ul> <p>Percentage Of Time 30 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Career Services Programming Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Provides one-on-one and group career advising for students across disciplines. </li><li>Assists with major Career Services programs and events, including career fairs, classroom presentations, tabling, and workshops. </li><li>Serves as the lead contact for the Workforce Recruiting Program. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned in support of Career Services' mission. </li></ul> <p>Percentage Of Time 20 Essential Function: Yes</p> <p>Required and Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Required Education</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Social Sciences, or a closely related field.</p> <p>Required Experience</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in higher education, career development, community engagement, or related program administration. </li><li>Demonstrated experience managing programs or initiatives, including responsibility for coordination, evaluation, and reporting. </li><li>Experience working with or in nonprofit or community-based organizations, with an understanding of community engagement best practices. </li><li>Strong advising or coaching skills, especially in supporting college students through experiential learning, internships, or service programs. </li><li>Experience building and maintaining collaborative partnerships with internal and/or external stakeholders. </li></ul> <p>Required License/Certification</p> <p>NA</p> <p>Required Additional Qualifications:</p> <p>NA</p> <p>Preferred Education</p> <p>Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Public Administration, or a related discipline.</p> <p>Preferred Experience</p> <ul> <li>Experience in university career services or a similar setting that supports student career readiness. </li><li>Familiarity with internship programs, service learning, or campus-community partnership frameworks. </li><li>Knowledge of platforms such as Handshake, Salesforce, or other CRM/student tracking systems. </li><li>Leadership of cross-functional teams or campus committees that support experiential learning or student success initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Preferred License/Certification</p> <p>NA</p> <p>Preferred Additional Qualifications:</p> <p>NA</p> <p>Compliance Requirements</p> <p>Credit Check No Motor Vehicle Licensing Validity Check No Pre-employment Physical Request and Assessment No Drug Screen No</p>
