Applications will be reviewed beginning in April 2026. Interviews will begin upon the completion of application review.</p> <p>This position is responsible for providing effective instruction for assigned courses.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.</p> <ul> <li>Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner </li><li>Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance </li><li>Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour </li><li>Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment </li><li>Grades and returns student work in a timely manner </li><li>Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course </li></ul> <p>Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course</p> <p>Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction</p> <p>Maintains regular office hours</p> <p>Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom</p> <p>Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching</p> <p>Serves on college or department committees as needed</p> <p>Attends professional development opportunities when possible</p> <p>Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus</p> <p>Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate</p> <p>Participate in graduation exercises</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p> <p>Continued awareness of professional/industry trends and opportunities</p> <p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations</p> <p>Outstanding conflict resolution skills</p> <p>Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills</p> <p>Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning</p> <p>Be innovative, creative, motivated</p> <p>Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently</p> <p>Knowledge of and facility with technology and software including, computers, and web-based resources such as BlackBoard and/or Canvas</p> <p>Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision</p> <p>Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Associate's degree in Interior Design or a related field</p> <p>Two years of progressive experience in interior design, an architectural firm or related art or commercial profession</p> <p>Computer skills using basic functions of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Outlook</p> <p>Unofficial transcripts must be attached and submitted to application.</p> <p>Preferences:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in a design related field</p> <p>Five years experience in the commercial design field</p> <p>Proficiency in AutoCAD</p> <p>Proficiency in SketchUp</p> <p>Proficiency in Revit</p> <p>Proficiency in Adobe Suite</p> <p>As an equal employment opportunity employer, Wake Tech values our workforce.
