<p>General Statement of Job The Director of Development is a full time position Reporting to the Senior Director of University Development this position will support Missouri Southerns development program by identifying cultivating and soliciting prospects with the capacity to make contributions of 25000 or more and the capacity and inclination to make planned gift commitments Essential Duties Specific Duties and Responsibilities Identify cultivate and solicit gift prospects with the capacity to make contributions of 25000 or more and the capacity to make planned gift commitmentsby Maintaining a portfolio of prospects as assigned by the Senior Director for Univeristy DevelopmentUtilizing database and CRM software to research identify and track new prospectsConducting a minimum of 20 personal andor phone visits per monthSubmitting a minimum of 3 documented proposals for major gifts per monthAllocating approximately 70 of their time focused on current gift commitments of 25000 or more and 30 of their time on planned gift commitmentsWork collaboratively with the Development Office and Alumni Office personnel to move prospects through the development pipeline identification; qualification; cultivation; solicitation; stewardshipMaintain clear communication within CRM software and with appropriate staff on outcomes of solicitations and visitsWork in concert with Office of Development personnel and the Director of Alumni & Donor Relations to effectively execute stewardship activities designed to enhance the relationship between donors and the UniversityAssist in writing editing and design of various donor correspondence pieces including appeals and acknowledgementsSome national and regional travel and attendance at evening andor weekend activities will be requiredOther duties as assignedEducation Experience and Licenses Bachelors degree from accredited college or university is requiredTwo years employment experience in higher education andor development setting preferredKnowledge Skills and Abilities To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill andor ability required Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Requires excellent organizational interpersonal verbal and written communications skillsRequires the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive dataRequires the ability to work in a professional office environment and exhibit excellent customer service skillsMust be able to build and maintain positive relationships with a variety of constituencies from across campusResults oriented entrepreneurial focus on quality and team orientedAbility to interact effectively with a wide variety of colleagues volunteers alumni and prospectsAdvanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite database spreadsheet and general computer experiencePerform tasks with personal integrity self confidence enthusiasm and professionalismPhysical DemandsWork Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger handle or feel including the use of a computer keyboard; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear including the use of a telephone The employee is frequently required to walk The employee must occasionally lift andor move up to 25 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include color and texture perception as well as the ability to adjust focus The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate NOTICE The above job profile does not include all essential and nonessential duties of this job All employees with disabilities are encouraged to contact Human Resources to review and discuss the essential and nonessential functions of the job An employee with a disability can evaluate the job in greater detail to determine if shehe can safely perform the essential function of this job with or without reasonable accommodation</p>
