Yes</p> <p>County Schenectady</p> <p>Street Address 500 Balltown Rd., Bldg 4, Fl 2</p> <p>City Schenectady</p> <p>StateNY</p> <p>Zip Code12304</p> <p>Duties Description Under the direction of an Information Technology Specialist 3- SG 23 within Dedicated Support for New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), the Information Technology Specialist 2 (NS- Hourly) will act as a technical lead and will work with others in the unit to provide ongoing maintenance and support of OPWDD internet and intranet applications.</p> <ul> <li>Perform coding, testing and debugging activities in accordance with design specifications, agency standards and test plans </li><li>Perform software maintenance activities, including remediation, software upgrades and enhancement </li><li>Participate and assist in the development of high-level conceptual design as well as detailed design specifications for new application systems or enhancements to existing applications. </li><li>Prepare ad hoc reports in response to user needs </li><li>Diagnose and troubleshoot application software problems as they occur to minimize application downtime. </li><li>Create and maintain user and system documentation </li><li>Provide application support and maintenance on OPWDD's applications using SQL Server, MS Access/VBA, Java, Power Apps </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications Open Competitive: A bachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science.</p> <p>OR A bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field and one year of experience in information technology;</p> <p>OR 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science and one year of professional experience in information technology.</p> <p>OR Two years of professional experience in information technology.</p> <p>Promotion: Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 1, Salary Grade (SG) 14.</p> <p>Transfer: Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 2 or Information Technology Specialist 2 Programming, G-18; OR in a title G-16 or above deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.</p> <p>Please note:</p> <ul> <li>Appointment to this position and continued employment with the agency is contingent upon obtaining and/or maintaining New York State residency within six months of hiring. </li><li>Appointment to this position is not final until all agency approvals have been granted. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis.
