Led by our purpose, to nourish growth with all that we do, our team members are dedicated to creating great tasting food and cultivating deep and lasting relationships.</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>Join Us as Our Next Corporate Sanitation Director !!</p> <p>The Director of Sanitation provides strategic oversight, support, and governance for all aspects of sanitation across all T. Marzetti facilities. This role leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive sanitation strategy, actively engaging and collaborating with all manufacturing locations to establish and maintain robust SOPs, master sanitation schedules, and best-in-class cleaning practices and methods-including the selection and effective use of cleaning chemicals. Through proactive leadership, clear communication, and cross-functional collaboration, the Director of Sanitation ensures that quality and food safety expectations are not only met but exceeded, while effectively preventing sanitation and design-related food safety failures. Marzetti, and we reserve the right to contact those candidates without any obligation to pay a fee.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Essential Functions/Primary Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide visionary leadership and direction for all sanitation teams, fostering a culture of food safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. </li><li>Develop, mentor and support sanitation managers across locations through coaching and expertise to drive performance and engagement. </li><li>Establish, implement, and continuously improve company-wide sanitation policies, procedures, and best practices in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards. </li><li>Set clear sanitation goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), and metrics; regularly analyze data to drive accountability and performance at all levels </li><li>Serve as the company's subject matter expert in sanitation chemistry, hygienic equipment design, environmental monitoring, and advanced cleaning technologies. </li><li>Oversee chemical vendor management, including selection, contract negotiation, inventory management, and performance validation. </li><li>Stay current on emerging sanitation technologies, regulatory changes, and industry trends; proactively implement improvements to enhance food safety and operational efficiency </li><li>Collaborate with Operations, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Maintenance, and Food Safety teams to ensure sanitation programs support overall business and food safety objectives </li><li>Lead or sanitation-related initiatives, such as facility expansions, equipment upgrades, and new product launches, ensuring sanitary design and compliance from project inception </li><li>Identify, assess, and mitigate sanitation-related risks, including allergen controls, pathogen environmental monitoring, and pest control, to protect consumers and company reputation. </li><li>Standardize and oversee pest control programs, ensuring integration with overall sanitation strategy </li><li>Lead or participate in root cause analysis and corrective action planning for sanitation-related incidents, recalls, or audit findings </li><li>Work with the Corporate Food Safety audit team in conducting sanitation and food safety audits at all manufacturing facilities </li></ul> <p>#TMZ23</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors Degree in Food Science, Sanitation, Microbiology or a related technical field of study in the applied sciences </li><li>Minimum 7 - 10 years of experience in food manufacturing in a sanitation setting </li><li>Prior people leadership experience strongly preferred </li><li>Current advanced working knowledge in sanitation, food safety plans, microbiology, pest control and quality systems </li><li>Experience with core sanitation services to include wet and dry methodology, COP and CIP, validation and verification of sanitation systems, sanitation escalation strategies, etc. </li><li>Ability to influence and communicate with all levels of the organization </li><li>Ability to travel 50%-75% of the time </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibility:</p> <p>Manages 2 Regional Sanitation Managers</p> <p>Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Decision Quality </li><li>Strategic Mindset </li><li>Communicates Effectively </li><li>Instills Trust </li><li>Builds Effective Teams </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions/Environment</p> <p>Working Conditions/Environment:</p> <p>Works in a normal office environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, see, hear, sit, stand, talk, type, walk and bend while moving about the facility. The noise level in the office is quiet. Occasional travel to plants or meetings is required.</p>
