<p>Westmoreland County Victim/Witness Services/District Attorney's Office is seeking applicants for the position of Victim/Witness Advocate. This is a professional position responsible for victim services provided to victim/witnesses in the juvenile and criminal justice system.</p> <p>Skills Needed:</p> <ul> <li>Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. </li><li>A working knowledge of the Adult Criminal Justice System and the Juvenile Justice System and the functions of the different agencies within the system. </li><li>Basic knowledge of crisis intervention skills. </li><li>To be a highly motivated self-starter, demonstrate initiative and accomplish objectives without extensive supervisory input. </li><li>Criminal, FBI, Child Abuse Clearances as well as drug test are required </li></ul> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure that crime victims are afforded their rights under the Pennsylvania Victim's Bill of Rights. </li><li>Provide orientation to the criminal and juvenile justice system. </li><li>Act as a liaison between police, victims and Assistant District Attorneys. </li><li>Provide court accompaniment, especially in cases of serious personal injury, feloniously assaultive crimes or extensive property loss, to persons involved in the Criminal and Juvenile Justice System.
