<p>THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL</p> <p>Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler System Designer. This is a key position for our growing team that requires knowledge and attention to detail in all aspects of NFPA 13,14, 20 & 24. This position will work closely with our estimating, project management, field, and fabrication teams.</p> <p>WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (and doing well!)</p> <ul> <li>Read and interpret construction documents and plans. </li><li>Fire sprinkler design of automatic fire systems, including fire pumps, wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems. </li><li>Ability to work under tight deadlines and maintain individual schedule and completion dates. </li><li>Create detailed drawings through the use of HydraCAD software. </li><li>Use BIM to design system onto engineered drawings. </li><li>Conduct field surveys and assist field personnel with design-related installation issues. </li><li>Perform hydraulic calculations and detail stock lists for fabrication. </li><li>Ensure work complies with applicable codes and AHJ requirements. </li><li>Pre-construction coordination with other trades. </li><li>Identify changes in projects that impact cost, schedule, or labor requirements. </li></ul> <p>WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU</p> <ul> <li>Two to five years of fire protection system layout and calculation experience. </li><li>Ability to read fire system design drawings. </li><li>Working knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action systems, as well as backflows and fire pumps. </li><li>HydraCAD and 3D coordination experience. </li><li>Experience with fire sprinkler industry design software. </li><li>Experience with installation of underground piping. </li><li>Ability to read fire system design drawings </li><li>Proficient in NFPA 13, 14, 20 & 24 code requirements. </li><li>NICET level II in water-based systems layout. </li><li>Knowledge of Fire and Life Safety industry. </li><li>Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency. </li><li>Ability to work independently with some supervision. </li><li>Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills. </li><li>Knowledge of OSHA safety standards. </li><li>Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening. </li></ul> <p>WHAT WE'RE BRINGING TO THE TABLE</p> <ul> <li>Competitive salary based on qualifications. </li><li>Paid time off plan and holidays. </li><li>401(k) matching. </li><li>Short term and long-term disability. </li><li>Medical, dental, and vision plans with options. </li><li>Life insurance. </li><li>Professional career development opportunities. </li><li>Tuition reimbursement. </li></ul>
