<p>Job Title: Temporary Part-Time Tutor for the Alternative Learning Program</p> <p>Location: R-S Middle School</p> <p>Reports To: Sherri Blanton</p> <p>FLSA Status: Non-Exempt</p> <p>Terms of Employment: Temporary, Part-Time (Not to exceed 20 hours per week)</p> <p>Compensation: Hourly, based on experience and available funding</p> <p>Benefits: This position is not benefits-eligible</p> <p>Position End Date: No later than June 30, 2026</p> <p>GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB</p> <p>The Temporary Part-Time Tutor will provide supplemental academic support to students, working under the supervision of school administrators and/or designated instructional staff. This position is intended to address specific learning needs and help close instructional gaps. The role is part-time, temporary, and seasonal in nature and does not carry eligibility for benefits or long-term placement.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide small group and/or one-on-one tutoring support in designated content areas (e.g., reading, math).</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with targeted instructional activities aligned with classroom objectives and student needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor student progress and provide feedback to supervising teachers or administrators.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student participation.</p> </li><li> <p>Follow the school's schedule and expectations for student engagement and supervision.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate professionally with students, staff, and families, as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all RCS policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.</p> </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li> <p>Associate's degree or 48 hours of college credits required; or higher preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Prior experience working with school-age children in an educational setting is preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Must pass a criminal background check as required by the school system.</p> </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to build rapport with students and support academic growth.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication and organizational skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to follow directions and instructional plans provided by certified staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Willingness to work flexible part-time hours based on school needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.</p> </li></ul> <p>DISCLAIMER</p> <p>The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
