<p>The School of Education at Syracuse University is looking for an individual to teach DAP 301 Foundations of Movement (3 credits) for the Spring 2026 semester.</p> <p>Course Description: Foundations of Movement covers Kinesiology and Somatics as they inform dance/movement technique. Emphasis will be placed on application of knowledge to personal practice and pedagogy/coaching.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in dance, kinesiology or a related field. </li><li>Experience/certification in somatic practice is essential. </li></ul> <p>Job Specific Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Teaching experience at the college/university level is very desirable. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develop/update the course syllabus in accordance with SOE standards. </li><li>Ordering in advance books and materials for students in the class to purchase on or before the first day of classes. </li><li>Preparing for classes. </li><li>Holding office hours each week for students in the class and others. </li><li>Grading in a timely manner student assignments and examinations for the course. </li><li>Completing competency assessment reports (if required). </li><li>Turning in mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University standards. </li><li>Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty. </li><li>Other responsibilities as indicated. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate the physical skills required to lead students through the appropriate activity. </li></ul> <p>Tools/Equipment</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Application Instructions</p> <p>Please attach a resume/CV, cover letter and contact information for three professional references.</p>
